Under the leadership of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Royal Bahrain Endurance Team has risen to become one of the most decorated entities in the world of endurance racing. Through its participation in FEI-approved races across six continents, the team carries Bahrain’s message into the arenas of equestrian sport, embodying in every appearance the values of strict discipline, mindful horse care, and national pride that accompanies every victory.

The highest level of FEI endurance racing: 160 kilometers in one day. On this course, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa made history by winning back-to-back World Endurance Championship titles.

The introductory stage of endurance racing, covering 80 to 100 kilometers with mandatory veterinary checks. It is where the true partnership between rider and horse is formed before taking on the highest level.

In September 2024, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa wrote a new chapter in the history of endurance racing when he claimed his second consecutive world title at the FEI Senior World Endurance Championship, hosted in Monpazier, France. Riding “Everest La Majorie,” HH completed the 160-kilometer CEI 3★ race in 8 hours and 32 minutes, becoming the second rider in the championship’s history to win back-to-back world titles in this category and further cementing Bahrain’s position as a firmly established global force in equestrian endurance racing.

A Sports Leader Who Built the Victorious Ecosystem and Placed Bahrain on World Championship Podiums

His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa is regarded as one of the most prominent sporting figures in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the wider region, having succeeded in transforming a passion for sport into a comprehensive national project that has firmly established Bahrain's name on the international sporting stage. Through his strategic vision, numerous initiatives and sports teams have been launched that today stand as some of Bahrain's most recognised sporting identities.

Among his most notable achievements is the founding of Bahrain Victorious 13 Triathlon Team, which within just a few years has grown into one of the most successful triathlon and endurance sports teams in the world. The team has attracted elite Olympic champions and world champions, claiming successive world titles and international honours, and has become a Bahraini sporting model that commands widespread respect internationally. Team management affirms that the project was born from His Highness's vision to spread a culture of sport, health, and excellence among Bahraini and Gulf youth.

On a personal sporting level, His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has set an exceptional example as a sporting leader who does not merely chart visions and celebrate achievements, but actively participates in forging success on the field of competition. Among the most prominent milestones of his career is his crowning as World Champion in the Military category at the 2018 Ironman World Championship, becoming the first Bahraini to achieve this global distinction in one of endurance sport's most demanding competitions. He has also maintained a distinguished presence at international triathlon championships, contributing to cementing Bahrain's standing on the global sporting map and affirming that ambition, commitment, and sustained effort are the fundamental pillars of great achievement.

In equestrian endurance, his name has become synonymous with a series of world-class achievements that have elevated Bahrain's standing in the sport. He has led the Royal Endurance Team to multiple international titles, including the Small Horses Endurance World Championship in Spain in 2022, and has continued to guide the Royal Team to global honours in Slovakia, Sweden, Abu Dhabi, and other prominent international venues.

His Highness has also played a pivotal role in supporting Bahraini teams competing on the world stage, with the Bahrain Victorious brand becoming a sporting ambassador for the Kingdom across a number of international disciplines. Jaafar Mirza is among the Bahraini talents who have left a clear mark on endurance riding, having built a distinguished sporting career that spans from the competitive arena as a rider to positions of technical leadership and coaching. Through his work within the Victorious team, he has contributed to numerous successes that have strengthened the team's standing both locally and internationally.

Among the most prominent milestones of his sporting career is his victory in the Crown Prince's Endurance Cup, one of the most important races of the season in Bahrain. Mirza claimed this title following a strong performance aboard the horse "Persepolia," affirming his ability to compete at the highest level of major races and adding his name to the list of riders who have achieved notable distinction in Bahraini endurance sport. The victory marked a significant turning point in his career and helped cement his standing within the sporting community.

On the coaching front, Jaafar Mirza achieved a notable international distinction by finishing ninth in the world in the FEI rankings for best endurance trainers in 2024. This ranking came after a season rich in outstanding results for the horses under his supervision, placing him ahead of more than 1,700 trainers from around the world. The achievement stands as a testament to the advanced technical level the Bahraini coach has reached in one of the most competitive sports on the international stage.

Mirza's name has also been associated with the successes achieved by Bahraini horses in global rankings, having been part of the technical team that oversaw the preparation of the horse "Bolt de Feniéliès," which topped the world rankings in the Young Horse category. This achievement reflects the depth of technical work invested by the coaching staff in preparing horses through specialist programmes focused on physical conditioning and technical readiness for international competition.

Throughout his coaching career, Jafar Mirza has contributed to preparing a number of horses that have delivered outstanding results in local and international races, while also playing an important role in developing the performance of young riders and preparing them for major championships. These efforts have been reflected in the results achieved by the Victorious team and the Royal Endurance Team across numerous competitions, further reinforcing Bahrain's standing as one of the leading nations in endurance sport.

Mirza continues today in his role as a coach within the Victorious team, drawing on his extensive experience in the sport and continuing his work to prepare a new generation of riders and horses capable of competing at the highest regional and international levels in keeping with the sustained successes that Bahraini endurance sport continues to achieve.

Victorious Team Coach and One of the Most Prominent Figures in Bahraini Endurance Sport

Ahmed Janahi is among the well-known technical figures in endurance riding in the Kingdom of Bahrain, with his name long associated with the successes achieved by Bahraini teams in local and international endurance races. Janahi serves as a trainer with the Victorious team, one of Bahrain's most prominent endurance racing outfits, which has recorded numerous achievements at both regional and international level.

Al Janahi possesses extensive experience in preparing horses and riders for endurance races across all distances, contributing through his technical work to raising performance standards and enhancing teams' readiness for major competitions. His name has also been linked to a number of participations and achievements by Bahraini teams in international championships, establishing him as a well-known figure within the Kingdom's endurance sport community.

Throughout his coaching career, Al Janahi has affirmed in numerous media statements the importance of the support that endurance sport receives in Bahrain, noting that developmental initiatives and the incentives offered to riders and stables contribute directly to raising the level of competition and achieving results abroad. He has also emphasized that the continued support for riders and coaches has been one of the key factors behind the development of Bahraini endurance sport in recent years.

Al Janahi's role has also been prominent in preparing endurance teams for local championship participation, where he has contributed to strong results for the Victorious team. Among the most notable of these was the team's first-place finish in the 120-kilometre race through rider Issa Hamid Al-Anzi aboard the horse "Saveen," with Al Janahi serving as the trainer responsible for preparing both the horse and the team for that achievement.

Al Janahi has also been known for his support of initiatives aimed at developing endurance sport and motivating riders, having praised a number of programs and prizes allocated to stables and riders participating in local championships, affirming that such initiatives enhance the competitiveness of races and help develop the technical and administrative aspects of teams.

Ahmed Janahi continues to fulfil his role within the Victorious team's technical setup, contributing to the preparation of a new generation of riders and horses capable of competing across various championships, in support of the team's standing as one of the most prominent names in Bahraini and Gulf endurance sport.
